Dr. Ritu Bhaumik Patel is an Assistant Professor at Indrashil University (Cadila Pharmaceuticals), India, with over 13 years of research experience and 8 years of teaching experience. She earned her PhD in Animal Biotechnology from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal. Her research focuses on host-microbe interactions, probiotic surface proteins, microbial biotechnology, and protein biochemistry. Dr. Patel has published extensively in high-impact journals such as the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (IF: 8.5) and Frontiers in Microbiology (IF: 4.5). She holds two granted design patents and has contributed to several book chapters and one authored book. She has been honored with multiple awards, including the Best Research Paper Award by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (2025) and the Young Investigator Award (2016). Dr. Patel has served as principal investigator for several funded projects from DBT, GSBTM, and SSIP, and has organized international conferences and workshops. She is also a reviewer for reputed journals and an active member of professional bodies in biotechnology and probiotic research.
